ECAM Residential Weekend

Friday, 25. September 2026 - 10:30 to Sunday, 27. September 2026 - 11:30
Great Hucklow

East Cheshire Area Meeting Residential Weekend

Please, put September 25th-27th 2026 in your diary to meet with other Friends from the Area Meeting at the Nightingale Centre, Great Hucklow, Derbyshire https://www.thenightingalecentre.org.uk .  This will be an opportunity to meet, walk, talk, eat and play with other Friends, in a lovely setting. It may be possible for some to stay the Sunday night too – let us know so it can be organised in some way.

There are single, double, twin and family rooms, (and a dormitory to sleep 10), some rooms are ensuite, some are non-ensuite.

Costs are £232 per adult for non-ensuite accommodation and £242 for ensuite (for the weekend).

Children 0-5 are free, children 6-11 £132 for the weekend, and children 12-17 £152. All children must share with their “responsible adult/s”.

If you would find this too expensive, ask your Pastoral Friends for help from the Education and Relief Fund or possibly another bursary, before sending in your booking form to the treasurer.  Area Meeting supports residential weekends because they are vital in the life of the Meeting. We do not want cost to be a reason why you do not come.

We’d welcome any ideas from you about how we best use our time together. We are looking for another volunteer to work with us on the planning team. Do suggest yourself or someone that you know.

Please fill in the form below and return it to Frances Hill at treasurer.ecam@gmail.com – or by post to Frances Hill, 31 Vale Head, Handforth, Cheshire, SK9 3BP

With best wishes, and looking forward to seeing you there,

Frances Hill, Frances McCann and Andrew Backhouse

Conflict Advisory Group Preparation for BYM Zoom

Tuesday, 14. April 2026 - 18:00 to 19:30
Zoom

MEETING TO PREPARE FOR BYM

You may recall that Conflict Advisory Group now covers three Area Meetings – Manchester & Warrington, East Cheshire and Pendle. It has 2 members – Véronique Pin-Fat of Disley Meeting and Elizabeth Coleman of Eccles Meeting. We want to make good use of the fact that Britain Yearly Meeting has a major theme on how to handle conflict well.

Conflict Advisory Group has organised a meeting – on Zoom on Tuesday April 14, 6.00pm-7.30pm - to look at what conflict resolution is about, and to prepare ourselves for BYM, so that we can best use what we learn to benefit our local and area meeting. It is open to those who plan to attend BYM, and interested people who do not plan to attend BYM.

For Zoom login details and password see either ECAM February newsletter or contact Elizabeth Coleman (elizcol@dialstart.net).
